Busy week on the farm and we are working hard to play catch up after the long drought we had at the start of the month. We had a really large litter of baby piglets born last night and the mommy sow has seventeen little ones nursing off her this morning. If you want to bring the family out to the farm now is a great time as there isn't much more cute on a farm than baby pigs.
We are still heavy into replanting numerous crops that failed to germinate due to the cold and lack of water but other things like Romaine lettuces, tomatoes, and potatoes are coming along wonderfully, so that will give us all something to look forward to in the coming weeks. This week in the baskets we will be including Strawberries from Millen Farms in Great Vilage, anyone wanting to make Strawberry Shortcake can order Julie's delicious fresh baked Sugar Biscuits to go with through the add ons section of the HarvestHand software. We hope you all enjoyed the basket last week including the bread and we look forward to delivering your baskets to you this week with more naturally grown, fresh, delicious veggies.
A few points to note;
We still have a few openings if any of your friends, co-workers, or family would like to be part of our CSA.
We have added several new items to the add ons list and more to come so check it out. If you want something you don't see, just email us and ask. We do ask that all add ons be ordered no later than the morning of delivery and that baked goods be ordered no later then the day before.
Any questions or comments please let us know and keep checking Harvesthand for notifications, updates, recipes, etc.
