This is an important newsletter, especially for our Musquodoboit Harbour members. This week on Sunday Sept 20th from 9am to 5pm we will be holding our 4th Annual Open Farm Day here at the farm. So first off this means there will be no CSA delivery to Musquodoboit Harbour this week. You can still get your basket if you want to come to the farm any day this week, or come to Open Farm Day. Also you can double up next week or take pork to make up for your share, just let us know.
So we want to invite all our members to come out to the farm this Sunday if you are able. We will be giving tours of our entire operation including the chickens, bunnies, pigs and of course piglets, our greenhouses and gardens. Tours will run every 20 -25 minutes and last approximately a 1/2 hour. It is a great opportunity to ask questions see how your food is raised and the methods we use and we will also have static displays and information available on gardening. There will be a display of baked goods for sale by Julie and Kathleen unlike anything you can imagine as well as vegetables available for purchase. Our Farm Store will be open all day also.
There will be tea and coffee available, bottled water and juice for sale, there will be a picnic area set up and a safe area for the children to play, so bring the family and a lunch. There will also be Portable restroom on site. Please note there is absolutely NO Smoking on the farm property and we do ask that you leave your pets at home. Open Farm Day at times can be very busy with lots of commotion and it is no place for the family pet. It is not fair to your pet, other guests, or our farm animals. If you have a service dog that is perfectly fine as long as they are on lease and controlled.
We hope you can make it out and we look forward to showing you everything we do.
